And this post is a great example of the ignorance of "fundies" regarding Catholicism.

The Pope can sin as much as anyone else in the universe.

Common sense and intelligence. Francis is a VERY smart man. He represents Christians who are actually part of the 21st Century.

Francis is demonstrating that Christians can sweep away the cobwebs of ancient thought. Just as he's demonstrated the love and acceptance Jesus taught. He's an exceptional man. I can't wait to see what he does next.

The Pope is right on.

And the CC has discussed evolution and the Big bang many times before. This is nothing new.

Catholics are told that they can interpret Genesis as allegory (if they wish to do so).

The father of the Big Bang theory is a Jesuit Priest who was also a physicist.

What?

In Abrahamic contexts, sin is the act of violating God's will. If you don't believe in God, you cannot sin....

Of course he does. He's human and prone to sin as much as anyone else.

I recognize that, and I agree. What they are failing to understand is that "infallible" does not mean "impeccable", right? There have been some absolutely horrible, immoral popes throughout the centuries....yet you consider them to have been infallible when speaking from the Chair of Peter.
