As an American I know it's cold comfort, just as "well, he's Tea Party" doesn't make some of those folks any less ridiculous. But yes, I do note that.

It's okay, by and large in this area we Americans have a lot more to be embarrassed about ;-)

I trust they won't be voting for him again. But then, I know there are so many who seem to buy into the skeptical about science, gullible about nonscience worldview.

the UK has its fair share of dupes, frauds, whackos and fatheads. And some of them get voted for, too. Fortunately,. while Green may get an MP in, on the 'Pox on both their houses' Election wave, I do not believe that anyone could run a campaign like the tea party. No, Britain's good old sure -fire vote -winner is xenophobia.
