National Geographic Channel’s adaptation of Bill O’Reilly’s book Killing Jesus, nabbed 3.7 million viewers across Sunday night — the biggest audience in history. The channel noted that the 8 PM premiere’s 1.0 rating in adults 25-54 is the highest rating for that demo since the net’s November 2013 premiere of O’Reilly’s Killing Kennedy, which clocked a 1.1, and 300% higher than NatGeo’s Sunday 8-11 PM average this calendar year.
Cheer up body of Christ. People are still hungry for God and he is reaching the world in many different ways. With the success of this adaptation and many other highly successful Biblical adaptations and Christians movies like The Bible Miniseries, Heaven Is For Real, God's Not Dead, and even more upcoming films, God is doing new things in a new way!

Given all his shows have come close to that mark I would say it's more likely people are watching them for the entertainment value, as opposed to trying to get a theological message.
Did you hear that "heaven is for real" is based on a fabricated story?
I believe it was a different story. Having said that, I see no reason to base my faith on the story of a kid's near death experience. We have the Bible.

The family that came up with the story admitted it was a fabrication. There was a whole thread about it here.
Must be Nat Geo doesn't rank up there in viewers if 3.7 Million Viewers breaks a record......
For comparison.........
"For the grand series finale Sunday night, Breaking Bad hit 10.3 million viewers,"
"The final numbers are in and Empire gone up again. Nielsen numbers have the 8 – 10 PM finale of the Fox drama snagging a 6.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 16.7 million total viewers."

Considering Bill O'Reilly promoted it daily for nearly a month on many talk shows, I'd consider the viewership a flop. O'Reilly categorizes this movie and his book as a historical account. I wonder what his sources could be since there are no contemporaneous accounts of these events.

Lol! At least fact check. "The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven" is what you're referring to. "Heaven Is For Real" is a different book.
