Yup, some crimes are unforgivable. Like Stalin, like Dalmar, like Duggan.

Drawing the line is easy. Does the crime to irreparable harm to the person?

If yes, no forgiveness. No excuses. These are not property crimes.

And for willingly exposing their greed, hypocrisy and lack of moral fibre to anybody who enjoys watching that sort of thing.

I'm glad that as a bonfide christian you never use extreme examples---such as comparing homosexuality to bestiality. But for me, that simply points out your MO of hypocrisy.

WOW...that this issue/subject would receive over a thousand posts in just a little over two weeks has me kind of sad. I've never seen any subject get such a response in all the years I've been here.
Why such prolific interest in this scummy matter?
I guess it's the same reason that show (I've never watched it) is so popular.

Because people have built up a lot of anger and resentment against conservative Christians, and they are having a field day now. Absolutely no concern for the victims. There's nothing new to discuss here. People need to let it go. All the ranting and raving is not going to put Josh Duggar in prison.

You are correct about Josh Duggar not going to prison, however we are in a forum which allows discussion and opinion. You don't decide when "people need to let it go." The bottom line is that if the parents had true concern for their victims, the situation would have been abated after the initial incident and this thread would never have been created.

The thing I find most amazing about this thread is lengths some people will go to in order to defend a cult. All of the children in the Duggar family are victims, as they are forced reside in a closed system. These kids never have an opportunity to spend time with, or be observed by mandatory reporters, and no adult their household is an advocate for them.

It's not conservative Christians Jeff. Remove religion out of it. I could care less if they were Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or Atheist. Any family that behaves like this has issues, deeper down causing all to be victims.

Sorry, but doesn't reflect the nature of the posts here at all. The focus has not only been on the Duggars, but Bill Gotthard and his whole teachings or whatever ("creepy cult") or making a big deal that the police officer was into child porn, a completely unrelated factor. Why should this even enter in the conversation about the Duggars? That tells me that people have issues with the Duggar's Christian beliefs and wanted to jump at the first chance to knock them off the stage.

The Duggars are a creepy cult though. Remove Christianity out of it.

What you're left with is a family who makes it the job of a woman to have children with no personal or career goals who then must submit to her husband's sexual desires. Young girls (and women) aren't given a voice or an option to pursue their own desires. When an issue arises, you don't seek to protect the victims from further issues. The victims are then forced to thing that the bad behavior is acceptable and forgivable without any regard to their mental state or addressing the issue so it prevents it from happening again.
