After we die and leave this world do we go straight to Heaven for eternity (that is if we have accepted Christ as our saviour and to repent all of our sins)?
I do love God and Jesus with all of my heart and I want to be with them in Heaven and I am trying to do my best to avoid sinning and I also ask both God and Jesus if they could help me live the life that they want me to live.

You want scripture here it is: 2 Corinthians 5:8 "Yes we are fully confident and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord". Rev 19:14 "The armies of Heaven dressed in pure white linen, followed Him on white horses".
For those who believe in Christ, death is only a prelude to eternal life with God. We will continue to live. I do not believe we go straight to the grave.
Yes, you are immediately in the presence of the Lord when you graduate from this life into the next.....a glorious outlook for those who believe.

Also, the story of Lazarus and the rich man which Jesus told indicates consciousness immediately after death (before the final Judgment Day.) At least, that's how I see it whether you consider this a parable or not, I don't think Jesus would have presented it that way if the key elements were not factual or true.

Well hello north carolina. Yes you did quote some scripture, but unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it,none that says you go IMMEDIATELY to heaven when you die. But there are many many verses that say we go to the grave and will be ressurrected on the last day and they say it very plainly. I could give you some if you like. But then again,I know it`s not what the church of christendom believes so I wouldn`t expect you to believe them even if I typed them. hugs

We are suspended here. If it wasnt so scary we wouldnt care, yes?
But if you asked me, after your run has ran, if You had tried to be a good man then yes you shall know before the end. Transition to ?
A feeling? left behind, a gift? God is infinite
It bothers me I cannot offer my ailing/ atheist? not quite atheist? father the same gift. cheers Stu
Jesus said to the man on the cross next to his, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
Not yesterday, not tomorrow but "today".
