Indeed they are but 2 Timothy 4:4 defines fables as that which is contrary to what scripture asserts to be truth ... a circular definition if ever there was one.
There is truth and there are fables. Evolution is a fable. God creating the heavens and earth and all that is in them is the truth.
No, the historic accounts of Genesis are true and honest and rational. My posts enable people to see the stupidity and irrational, unprovable account of modern man who espouse evolution.
Documentaries are made by fallible men.
Just as was the Bible. Demonstrably. Your faith -based denial gets you no credit other than with yourself.
Actually the Bible is a collection of historic accounts, not fables. Christians are told not to listen fables.
This is the final stance, to assert the Bible as historic fact regardless of the scientific evidence against it. As science has learned more, the literalists have been pushed to this place where the Bible is asserted as true and asserting the evidence as not being true because it doesn't fit the Biblical narrative. At one time, literalists could claim that science doesn't know so the Bible must be true, but now that science does know, this is now where the literalists are forced to play. This is a sign that reasonable literalists will be moving toward claiming the Biblical stories are metaphoric and allegorical, just one more step to atheism.
they should be saying their god did it through evolution. I dont get what the big deal is.
That IS what most Christians think. That God is the Creator, and evolution is far more complex and awe-inspiring than a POOF, Merlin-the-Magician thing.
Certainly. It's taking Genesis literally that causes the conflict.
The first chapter is a beautiful poem, though.
