15 Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord.
2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
God would never say such things. But who would? Whoever wrote the bible, which is filled with error. Time to look past it.

Nope, so sorry people would even think that my Father God would
ever say or command such a thing.

Our<edit> ancient ancestors did NOT have a standard of truth to test the spirit of anything written until Jesus revealed the true nature of God.

Brilliant way to see it, of course! It needed to be seen again...can you imagine if this
sunk into more people?
The fear of God and all this 'wrath business' could be transformed to
seeing the Divine as Pure Love. ❤️

Wasn't god making appearances back in the day?
He was quite chatty too, right?
Why didn't god enlighten these ancient ancestors?
Lay some special pleading on us.
If I told you, you wouldn't understand. And if you wouldn't understand...
how would people back then get it do you suppose?
I love when Jesus said...picture the scene...with all his disciples that had been sitting around campfires
being told amazing things privately and 3 seeing him turn into pure light...he still said to them
at supper...There are many things I want to tell you but you cannot grasp them now. John 16And they were hundreds of years after the Old Testament writers...their little pea brains just didn't get
certain things.
(Remember they were similar to tribes throwing virgins into volcanoes, still...)
I wonder what Mystic will say, indeed.

Jesus? He was a compendium of various messiah's that existed in the Middle East mythology. Paul was the best salesman of the myth, and as such, it was the one that obtained traction. It was not until Constantine endorsed Christianity as the official Roman religion that it set roots.

Jesus, Paul, whomever ... I'm grateful for anyone who gave/gives a different perspective on the nature of God, then one that is full of wrath, vengeful, punishing, tyrannical, angry with humanity and needs to be appeased and obeyed ... or else!

Yeah, most Christians sort of ignore 2/3's of the bible, unless it is to rail against homosexuals and lesbians. Then they are all over endorsing that part.

I don't know if that is true of most Christians, but it is true of enough that it is troubling, to say the least.
