You wouldn't have any idea what Jesus taught without the Bible. I doubt that a sketchy-looking website called "truthforallpeople.com" is a reliable record of the teachings attributed to Jesus.

You may be surprised that Jesus has been busy the last 2017 years informing people about the truths of God and his mission to share the glad tidings of God's Divine Love. And he will continue with this work until God decides to close the gates to the Celestial Heavens.

"As I said when on earth, "Narrow is the Way and strait is the gate which leads to Life Everlasting, and few there be that enter therein," I repeat now; for it is apparent from the observation of the way in which mankind have exercised their will from the beginning - which God leaves free to their own volition - that a vast majority of men will never enter in at the strait gate, but will be content to live in the spheres and with the happiness which their natural love, in its perfect state and progress, will fit them for." - Jesus

Truth for all people - The Teachings of the Bible That Jesus' Blood Washes Away Sin, or That Jesus Died on the Cross for the Salvation of Men, are False

But that does not rule out the possibility of some form of 'spiritual existence'. After all, what exactly is life?

But is there any reason to fear spiritual things?
Life is a biological existence. There are good reasons to fear physical biological threats. There is no valid reason to fear make believe. That has not stopped unreasoned fear from claiming many many victims however.

OP, you do not have that feat. Of god and spiritual things. Your mind, your ego does. It does roughly 99% of what you perceive as thinking.
Primary reason of fear of spiritual is fear that it may actually work and one may become enlightened. That comes with body mind, ego, perishing. Of course it's cunning enough to avoid this, hence fears. Substantiated or not.
When pressed hard enough in that direction by conscious Self who truly wants to proceed on that path, mind will succumb and say - yes, of course. Let's become religious. Great saint. Or sage. Even let's get crucified. become a martyr. Whatever keeps Self from becoming truly religious and dissolving ego, mind.
Another reason for fear is fear of letting go. Complete let go of everything one is bound to. This is very scary as it makes one almost feel like dying. Everything one dedicated life to is to be abandoned. This is not easy. One has to jump into abyss based on very efemeric reason - faith. Into abyss that one does not know what is down at the bottom. Simply let go and jump. Surely, it is most fearsome thing. Easy to justify to avoid.

You are under no compulsion to fear God, spiritual beings, or anything else. We have free will, and it is for us each to decide what to believe.

Do we have free will naturally, or as a function of God's grace?

But how can you trust a god or being or whatever, that creates man, gives him a free will then decrees that if man uses that free will to choose incorrectly he will be tortured for all eternity?

God's devine love - how does that work? Is it the same divine love that sends a flood to drown everyone and all things?

Why is it that the human ignorance and superstition about God is blamed on God? Who has decided what characteristics or abilities God MUST have and what awaits us after death - - - and how did they come to know this otherwise unknowable information????

We are told the bible is the divine word of god and is infallible. The bible tells us of god's atrocities. So my question was, how can someone trust this god? How can one trust an entity that creates us so as to torture us? Remember that god is all knowing and thus knew the outcome. God knew that humans would use their 'god given' free will and make the 'wrong' choices. So how can one trust this entity you call God?

That is NOT the God I love and trust. Do you believe everything you are told? Then why do you believe that implausible nonsense about the Bible and God's nature?
