Yep this is correct!
Panspermia is the theory that life on the earth originated from microorganisms or chemical precursors of life present in outer space and able to initiate life on reaching a suitable environment. These life precursors are certainly carried in meteorites and comets which impacts Goldilocks zone planets...i.e. planets with a suitable environment conducive to sustaining life.
This is how we theorize life began on Earth.
