No, no Peace Corps for me. I don't want to work for the US, especially in the government. I don't really want to work for governments in other countries either. I don't believe I could become a permanent resident, then a citizen of another country if I worked for the US government. Peace Corps might put me farther away from what I want.
I still live at home with my folks and my mom works from home. If I could find a job that only requires a WiFi connection and work out of Starbucks, I would sign up in a heartbeat. What I think I need to find is something around here that has international offices and will sign paperwork when it comes to immigration. All Canada needs is a letter from my employer stating that I have worked and can bring skill to Canada. That's what I'm truly looking for - skilled work. Skilled work can be anything from a librarian, writer, spiritual, analyst, banker, etc. I am a clerk at my full-time job and that is not skilled work in Canadian eyes. It would be nice if I could do something remotely once I can move.
As for the Muslim question - I'm having a lot of health issues. I had to go gluten-free and I had to have an MRI for my liver. They think it might be an autoimmune disease. I never heard back from the doctor, but I do have an appointment on 9 July. I am praying all turns out okay. I have become more spiritual and less concerned with a religion. I am finding the religion is making me feel worse, healthwise. I can't fast for health reasons and money is now an issue, so I can't even give charity for Ramadan anymore. I don't think I can truly be Muslim with these issues and well, I also don't want to get married and I am infertile.

i know people who started this while in USA and then took the work with them when they relocated in other countries. It sounds like you are well suited for this with experience and college degree and writing and editing skills.
best wishes and many blessings for your health, well being, livelihood, and peace of mind.

I think I might look into that. I do have some experience with medical - I am a clerk in a medical billing/collection agency. I write appeal letters to insurance companies for higher reimbursement rates.
I think once I get bills paid off and my health figured out, I might look into MLIS programs in Canada and Germany, then compare. Then go from there. I can do spiritual leadership on the side.
I've been thinking about my "what next." I have an English degree and would love to move to Canada, or Germany, or a non-Asian country that needs me. I am an INFJ and have read that many INFJ personality types either become writers, librarians, therapists, or spiritual leaders.
I work part-time in a library and while I love it, I don't think there is a future in it even in other countries. I work in debt collections full-time and I hate it; it's not professional and I don't want to spend the rest of my life doing that (it also won't help me move).
A few months ago, a friend told me I reminded her of the many nuns she knew. She could see me as a spiritual leader. After some soul searching, I do not belong to a religion, but I am spiritual. Could I become a spiritual leader without having a religion?
Go study Paul, Mohammed, Joseph Smith and L. Ron Hubbard.
All were master marketers and salespeople in selling woo to people.
