God didn't stop it did he. All those dead people...lay at the feet of an all powerful god who does nothing.

If you are going to believe in the Omni-max God, why do you not believe we were given Dominion here on earth by His Sovereign Will? Why expect His intervention here? Do you think He changed His mind?

You choose:

a. he doesn't exist
b. he is not all powerful and we should ignore that being behind the curtain
c. he's a deadbeat dad "heavenly father"

I choose "b" without the being behind-the-curtain nonsense. If we have Dominion here, anything that is done MUST be done by us! Given our diversity of beliefs and people like you and LearnMe, etc. who don't believe that is quite a challenge. This material venue is what it is with all its vicissitudes. Our spiritual task is to subdue it and endure, which we have largely done, although quite irresponsibly, IMO.

He's not sort of behind the curtain? Everyone sees him? I don't think so. Psychological issues, perhaps.

No, perspective issues. You seem to have difficulty with the concept that we are part of God's consciousness (His offspring). We are ALL within Him (and vice versa). Our "blindness" or insensitivity to Him, is the only "curtain."

Difficulty with the concept? No. We Buddhists generally don't believe in a god. Perhaps that you're conceptual difficulty. Perhaps you need to get out more.

I was an atheist Buddhist, but I am now far more enlightened. It is that enlightenment that you reject and have difficulty with accepting.

I prefer to listen to my Buddhist teachers, my reading, and my experiences in Thailand to teach me about enlightenment. NOT internet posting by one lone man who expresses his woo experiences.
