A Jesusist is essentially someone who believes Jesus existed but would want nothing to do with Christianity as we know it.

Yup, there are a few who would fit that description, but who probably haven't used the term to describe themselves.

Some people say "Christ followers" or "Jesus followers" to separate themselves from traditional forms of Christianity.

I resonate with the description by Lord Hamilton: "Jesuism" was simply to love one another and love God. But while I dispute and reinterpret much of the Christian dogma, I retain the Savior meme and would consider myself a "JesuBaPaulist" because I am now convinced Jesus, John the Baptist, and Paul were very advanced Jewish Mystics who had the virtually impossible job of teaching Spirituality to very primitive and carnal followers who were terrified of Spirits. Jesus was NOT the worldly Mashiach the Jews expected, but He is definitely our Spiritual Savior the Firstborn Son of God and our Brother. As a human, He brought the "mind of God" to His human consciousness connecting ALL human consciousness to God.
