Do you believe that it's possible to have a soulmate or is it all just a fairytale notion?

Fairytale notion if you're talking about one single person being the only one for someone. If that were the case, most of us would never find that one single person, due to the sheer statistical improbability of ever even meeting them.

However, I do believe that there are people with whom we can have a much closer relationship than anyone else. Again statistically speaking though, there's gotta be a lot of them in the world, because so many of us find someone whom we really have a deep connection with.

But one single "soulmate", no.

That's true..logically that makes alot of sense. What about falling in love? Is that something we imagine or does it exist?

I'd like to believe I have a soulmate or a few of them.....unfortunately have not found him yet

Perhaps the idea of a soulmate just comes from evolution. Finding the best and strongest genetic match. Don't know.

I think 'soulmate' may have been someone's way of describing other people who are really on their wavelength.

He he...Falling in love is natures way to perpetuate the species. That feeling is always a passing thing, but some couples make a choice to love one another...All I'm saying is that falling in love and choosing to love are not the same thing.

Love is a real, measureable chemical response.

Yes, I have known couples who I could describe as soulmates although they're definitely in the minority. I would consider my Mother and my StepFather to be soulmates. They've been married over fourty years and have acheived that rare kind of bond between two individuals. Unfortunately, about half of the marriages in America end up in divorce including the two marriages in which I was the best man at the wedding. It's kind of sad but relationships probably cause more emotional pain and unhappiness than love. I don't know why it's so difficult to find the right person. I know I really suck at it and there's millions of others just like me.
