I realize that Mormons are dead set against marriage rights for gays, but they should reconsider. If they were to help gays set a precedent that "marriage" can be re-defined to accommodate a minority group in the USA, especially if each state could re-define marriage, they would help their own cause of polygamy.

Many mormons/LDS still practice polygamy today. If gay marriage were to be left to states to decide, then so would polygamous marriage be left to the states. Utah could approve polygamous marriages and accommodate the thousands of plygs who live there. Probably Arizona and Wyoming and Utah would follow suit. Nevada too, probably, as plyg marriage would accommodate the mormons as well as the non-LDS pervs who go to Vegas.

So, ironically, The LDS are hurting their own cause for legalization of plyg marriage by fighting gay marriage.

Polygamy was practiced and accepted by God in the OT. Homosexuality was not.
