Of course they worship the same God! I have known many of them and are wonderful, sincere, hard working people with good values. Just drive from Arizona into Utah, and notice the stark difference. You can eat off their streets in those sweet little towns, very friendly, etc.
No one questions the wonderful aspects of Mormonism...large families, tons of cousins, generally clean and neat and law-abiding....all admirable qualities.
But Mormons do not worship the same God and they believe that Jehovah, our God who is and has always been eternal, was once a man.
They also have a religion of works. Salvation through Jesus isn't enough. The goal of most mormons is to work hard enough at it so that they can become gods too and then start the process over again. It's more Hinduism with Christian terminology. Mormons are not Christians.
If you ask a Mormon of course, then expect a rebuttal. They like to think of themselves as Christians. Read the "Godmakers"... it's an expose that really clarifies.

Well if you're asking this then I doubt that you're a true Christian.
I'm sorry to say this and possibly hurt your feelings, Dreameyes, because you seem like a truly lovely person, but the fact of the matter is...that the mormom belief system is so different from traditional orthodox Christian belief that many, if not most Christian denominations do NOT consider it to be a truly Christian religion. Personally, if someone believes in Jesus Christ and his atoning work on the cross, I have a problem definitively saying that they are not a Christian, but at the same time... I would consider mormonism to be classified as a cult.
