Basically, this movie is about a man who has lived for 14,000 years, and in the movie, he confesses that he was Jesus Christ. He had survived wounds before and trained his body to slow down his processes until they're barely noticeable, so they buried him alive, then he healed naturally. He didn't think anyone would be there but some followers were there and used him as proof that ancient stories of people rising from the dead was possible, then fairy tale was wrapped up in it, and the church inserted more fairy tale to keep them in power, and the rest is history as he blended back into society and watched the evolution of society.

So ... what would be your reaction if you learned that Jesus had never actually died, and was an immortal, and that the other stories in the bible in the New Testament were mere fairy tale and that Jesus actually was trying to teach a Western version of Buddhism?

I've always thought of the bible as a fairy tale.

The Bible describes that to a tee. I would not fall for any of it.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

2 Pet 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.

2 Pet 2:2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.

2 Pet 2:3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

It was just a movie. It doesn't mean that someone was trying to cover something up, and there needs to be a full-scale inquiry. Just a movie. For purposes of entertainment.

Then I would say that "jesus" needs to study up on Buddhism. His theology is so different from Buddhism.

To start with Buddhism is a nontheistic religion.

I think you would have to see the movie to get the comparison from story progression angle.

He basically says he was teaching love, tranquility, peace between creatures...and it got blown out of proportion and his vision was twisted into 'Christianity' today.

I highly recommend this movie.

Oh, I know. I'm atheist, so I thought it was amusing.

I was merely asking Christians how they'd react if they met someone who could prove they were 14,000 years old and were in fact Jesus and Christianity is basically a perverted version of what he was teaching back in the day and was powerless to stop it once it snowballed out of control.
