Why would anyoneone's faith be troubled by life existing outside of earth? If anything I would think it would increase ones faith.
I do believe one thing for sure....if mankind does not figure out how we came to be on this planet for sure, the outer space residents are going to take credit for it(thier creation story of humanity) and I think they will be pretty convincing to large masses here in the near future.

Sorry title should have read: You most difinetly......

Possibly because some people believe that 'God made man in his image' which means that God looks like a hominid - NOT a beetle, wookey, orb, preying mantis, or any of the other types of aliens there are out there.

Personally I dont believe that God does look like a hominid, but you never know what will upset some religious types if they read it in the bible.

Umm, yeah. God made us in his image. That would make the aliens equal to animals, say, dogs or cats. Which would mean that they are our new pets (if we find them). God made the aliens just like everything else, and they'll just have to understand that (if they're intelligent enough).

I have never understood this attitude that says that "humans are the best - everything else is second-best". How arrogant this attitude is. What gives you the right to be the only one preferred by God?

I suppose you will say because the bible says so and I believe the bible. I suppose that you have never loved a dog or cat enough to want it in 'heaven' with you.

What happens when a good friend or loved one does not believe - then you will never see them in 'heaven' at all for all eternity.

My opinion is that any 'heaven' would have everything that you loved in it and if it excluded someone that you loved, then for me, it would not be 'heaven'. It all depends if you are willing to put up with a second-rate 'heaven' which does not live up to your expectations.
