You are trying to use situational ethics, and poorly I'll add, to justify something that cannot be justified.
I'm done with the civics lessons for the day. I'll make the same suggestion to you that I made to CHS89, if you missed it in your civics class the first time around then I suggest you go back for a refresher or consult an attorney.
If anyone else would like to discuss this without talking down to others, that would be great.

Actually I did pretty well in Civics, thank you very much. But if I'm going to teach a class, it would be Common Sense 101. That must be you falling asleep in the back of the class.
So, it's ok for the KKK to publicly threaten blacks, but NOT ok for the courthouse to have a nativity scene and menorah?
Why don't the minority groups simply ASK the courthouse to display their symbols of faith? Shouldn't diversity RECOGNIZE different faiths instead of STIFLING them?
If they threaten anyone it's not considered peaceful assembly and therefore not protected speech.
You do realize that the nativity scene isn't really a display for all Christians, right? There are many protestant Christians (especially American sects) who view the nativity scene as idolatry and blasphemous. Also, Hanukkah is a minor Jewish holiday, so the inclusion of the menorah just seems to be "hey we're down with you too, we swear!"
Whether you like it or not, it doesn't belong in STATE-run areas. if you want to put up nativity scenes in your own yard, feel free. Don't expect the state to do it for you.
If you were in an area that was majority muslims, I'm sure you would freak out at the sight of a crescent in the courthouse area.
I think the adults among us are well-aware of the rulings of the Supreme Court, but that doesn't mean we are in agreement...The First Amendment was meant to prevent the institution of a government religion which all citizens must follow...Unfortunately, Mr. Jefferson didn't foresee his simple language to be open to interpretation by later generations...

The KKK has nothing to do with this. Do you know what a red herring is?

Pretty much the entire purpose of KKK rallies is to intimidate racial minorities.
