Since my grandparents have passed away where would they be at right now?

That seems to me to be a question you should ask God about yourself, not atheists and others who might choose to ridicule your faith because they profess to have none themselves.

God is not found through excercising the intellect. There are other tools, such as fasting, meditation, scripture study, singing hymns, listening to uplifting music, selfless service, excercising even only a tiny bit of faith if that's all you are capable of, and humble and sincere prayer.

"And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, (a very tiny seed) ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you." Luke 17: 5-6

There is a way to develop faith to the point where you need not have faith in that thing anymore, you have knowledge! But admittedly it takes some effort. Don't let the atheists discourage you, they know not what they do, being in my opinion pridefully puffed up in their little arm of flesh intellectual understandings and denying the very God who made them, created this planet, and gave them an opportunity to experience mortal life for a little while.


"Now, as I said concerning faith—that it was not a perfect knowledge—even so it is with my words. Ye cannot know of their surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge. But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.

Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. I wish you the very best with your venture. Yes, indeed, God lives and Jesus is the Christ! They will reveal themselves to the faithful, standing already at your door and knocking, waiting only for you to exercise some faith and invite them in to your awareness...

I'd say that you should visit with your minister, priest or church father, and perhaps the congregation will say a prayer for your departed loved ones as well. it does seem a bit odd to attempt to gain spiritual comfort and solace from the rabble here on C-D (I include myself, BTW) , especially given our vast and noisy outbursts and opinions about such a hot topic. I'd hope you don't put too much store in what we all mutter....

The one place we can all agree that your grandparents will live on? In the loving memories you have of them. That can never die, no matter which "religion", half-baked or "over-cooked" belief system you care to adopt or be convinced of. After all, to paraphrase a point the Christian crowd are so fond of threatening with, "what if you're wrong" about God?

So do celebrate their lives with your family, and let them go to their final true peaceful resting place... in your mind.

Good honest post from your point of view rifle, but you're obviously a whole lot younger than I am if you think that memories can never die.
