There are jobs, it just depends on what you want to do....and, the competition for said jobs is steep.

Housing is VERY affordable.

It depends on what you do and how eager you are to get a job. Some of my friends took a a year to find a job -- but they were generally not as eager (husband had a job). If you're not picky, my guess is you can find a job within 5 months. If you are, then you need to know someone before moving, someone who can "assure" you of a job.

If anything, cost of living is not as bad as big cities.

we have the highest unemployment rate and IF you can find a job it will be low paying and what employers are doing is cutting peoples hours so they do not have to lay off. Again NV has the highest foreclosure and its not seeing the light the dark hole is just getting deeper. Like Obama said he is going to CHANGE everything. Sure is doing a great job at it.

rents are still low but they have gone up a great deal from 1 yr ago in Carson/tahoe. not sure about Reno
