Like can you do all the things you do in Vegas in Reno?

Entertainment wise etc.

No.

I've lived in both cities. Reno is a smaller version of Las Vegas, meaning there are many of the same amenities but far fewer of them. And to many people, including me, that isn't a bad thing.

Reno has some great restaurants but fewer of them than Las Vegas. We get some big-name entertainers but fewer of them than Las Vegas. We have excellent museums but fewer of them than Las Vegas.

So, if you're looking for quantity only, Las Vegas is better. But for what Reno lacks in quantity, it makes up in quality, in my opinion.

Entertainment wise? It has some, but not like Las Vegas. Reno has different activities like hiking, skiing and fishing. A more outdoorsy place. Lake Tahoe is nearby.

Whats the deal with the casino pools? Are there any that have day passes or do you need to be a guest at all the hotels to go in? In the casinos in CT like foxwoods anyone can go to the pool but they are usually packed/miserable because of this. I saw some of the newer casinos like peppermill have awesome looking pools so wondering what the situation is there..

thanks

Also, lake tahoe casinos could be included as well if you know of any info on those..

The Peppermill opened in 1971, so I wouldn't exactly call it a newer casino. But it has been renovated and is a nice hotel with, as you mentioned, a great pool.

I believe - but am not positive - that the Grand Sierra pool is available to non-hotel guests, but there may be a charge to enter.
