You gotta admit the guy is comedy gold.
So, I guess seeing t-shirts advertising Satan don't bother you? We are both Christians, so it bothers us, even though we can't do anything about what people like/wear.

I seen a young lady at a local casino wearing a pair of shorts with "F--- Covid" written on the back of them. That, in itself, tells me a lot about this young lady and, most likely, how she talks.

You really do think the world revolves around you, huh. It would be endearing if you weren't in your mid 70s, but you are who you are at this point. Again, had you actually followed the advice of others and visited Henderson before signing a lease that was essentially for an unseen apartment, perhaps you would have realized that people from all walks of life, and particularly with vices you find offensive, are drawn to the Vegas metro like moths to a flame. I am telling you this right now: immediately cross Reno off of your list, because it's absolutely replete with hipsters, LGBTQ people, and non Christians. I do find it ironic that you are OK with casinos, given that it's also a vice, with such a strong Christian ideological mindset, but it's really par for the course at this point.

I would look to the outskirts of Carson City in more rural areas if I were you. Gardnerville, Minden, Genoa are all likely out of your price range, but those areas are pretty nice and skew more conservative than Reno. Then again, they are exploding in popularity due to their close proximity to Lake Tahoe given that it's just on the other side of the Kingsbury Grade. Then again, perhaps Fallon, or even Winnemuca, will scratch the rodeo-adjacent itch you're so intent on scratching.

But yeah, you are not going to like Reno one bit, and even Carson City will feel too liberal and progressive for you. You've been warned!

Whoa, I'm amazed at the popularity of them and the sheer number of selections...
I never had an inkling...

You really can't tell anyone what they might like or not like. They have to find out for themselves. And, yes, the world does revolve around me! LOL

It occurs to me that if Carson City doesn't work out, you might like some of the small towns just south of Salt Lake City. There's an annual PCRA rodeo in Heriman Utah, plus other rodeos in the area. Weather about the same if not better as Reno/carson city. Much easier drive from SLC to Las Vegas for NFR. And, you'll find mostly Christians in Utah. We just stopped in Beaver UT to have lunch and saw multiple cowboy hats being worn by locals.

There's also a big VA hospital in SLC. And motorized boating on Utah lake (not the Great Salt Lake) so you can haul your boat along too . You also won't see many tattoos in Utah.

Just to let you and another member know: one t-shirt showed Lucifer aka Satan on the front (not a punk band) and the other one said (on the back) Satan's Sinners. So, neither had anything to do with some punk band.

Where ever we wind up, it won't be SLC, but thanks for thinking about us again. Heck, we may end up staying right where we are, but only time will tell that. And, Reno or Carson City is much, much closer to Vegas than SLC is. But, again, thanks for thinking about us again.

And, seeing multiple cowboy hats sure doesn't mean they are PRCA fans. In fact, ranch cowboys have their own association called Working Ranch Cowboys Association. We've been to one of their rodeos and most of the events aren't like a PRCA sanctioned rodeo. Basically because there's a big difference between a ranch cowboy and a rodeo cowboy. A ranch cowboy works a ranch full-time, whereas many rodeo cowboys have a full-time job during the week (like I did). I was a Assistant in Purchasing, for one company, during part of my rodeo weekends/years and a Electronics Stockroom Supervisor, for another company, during other years of my rodeo weekends.

We seen a few cowboy hats being worn in Loveland, Co during the four years we lived there. When my wife wore hers, people would take a second look at her. It was like they had never/ever seen a woman wearing a cowboy hat before. And, she looks great in hers!

RosieSD, we've sort of, but not totally, got use to seeing the tattoos now. And, if we do end up moving from Henderson, the boat and everything that goes with it, will be sold. Just like a number of things we had moved to Henderson, will be either sold or given to the Goodwill. IOW, downsizing and more downsizing.

Have you actually looked at Google Maps? It says:

SLC->Vegas: 5hr 48 mins (420 miles)
Reno-> Vegas: 6hr 49 mins (442 miles)
Carson City-> Vegas: 6hr 47 mins (434 miles)

Because I-15 is an interstate, it's basically a straight shot, whereas the drive from Western NV to Southern NV isn't, meaning the likelihood of delays is even higher. Same deal with Boise and the Northern Idaho. One would think that two biggest cities in the same state would be closer than ones from different states, but this isn't always the case.

Stuff like this takes like 90 seconds to verify, but again, you "know" what you know.

I actually agree with the SLC/Utah suggestion because its much closer to whatever it is you *think* you're sure you know, but again, you know everything lol

Like already stated, "SLC is out".

As far as driving goes, we could also fly to Vegas, like we had done before.

Yes, undoubtedly, I know everything. Just ask my wife. LOL
