I visited Reno/Sparks 3 times between 1995 - 2002. 2 out of the 3 had bad experience. The first year I lived here I felt as if I went back in time 40 years. Racism is above average. Moved to suburbs of Reno/Sparks Oct. 2004 FOR THE WEATHER from Las Vegas (Inner City). The people here are terrible, drivers are clueless or something is wrong with them, if you see a University License Plate avoid them. Don't believe me, check statistics. Most of my info comes from people I work with that have lived here their entire life and some that have just moved here from CA. From MY point of view, Reno/Sparks worse than LV.
