Check with a real estate agents. I don't believe for a minute that real estate in Southern California won't sell in the winter. That's when the people from the Midwest are fleeing the blizzards and moving to a better climate.

Good idea about the trailer. We actually have a camper and have not taken the cats camping, but the dog loves it.
I am in southern Ca, BUT I am in a mountain area that gets snow during the winter. And what makes this area harder to sell is that it is NOT in a skiing area. The homes 30 miles over in the mountain range by the ski areas will sell in the winter. People buying in the winter either want snow and by the skiing resort area or they want sunny CA with out the snow. And yep, I have talked with a realtor. The realtor is the one who said for me to sell it the Summer before I want to move.
She has 2 rentals in their rental department that would take the pets, but they are both on yearly leases that run from the wrong months for me. I am hoping one breaks their lease and gets the timing better for me
