Besides move out which I will be doing soon.

One of the criminals I live with keeps messing with my things. I only keep a few bathroom items outside of my room since I lock it but he throws things on the ground, rearranges them and powers off my cable since the box is in his room.

I thought about filing a police report but not sure they could do much. I've told my landlord a few times but he hasn't done ****. Same landlord who asked me to borrow $50 on Saturday.

Worried about my car. My hygiene products except for the Sonicare are cheap.

He will walk around outside my door trying to prove he's the alpha male. Basically wants to pick a fight.

Any ideas? Serious only please.

I am also leaving for Tampa in 4 days and am worried he may bust the lock to my room. The landlord will be gone for a week or so.

Most likely he's been to prison and does not know how to deal with people.

Move. Nothing is keeping you there and your safety is worth more than anything you own.

I will be moving soon but don't want to leave my room with just a lock. In can easily be picked.

One of the other tenants is a vet on disability with PTSD but he drinks and may use drugs. He's on probation, no car, no job. Eats people's food, drinks their drinks, even used my towel.

The landlord now says it's this guy but the nonsense was going on before probation boy moved in,

I gave a 15 day notice and they landlord accepted. Just waiting on a background check to clear.

Do you absolutely have to go to Tampa? Making arrangements to move out would be top priority for me, especially if you believe this guy is trying to pick a fight with you.

I have located a place and can move in on the 3rd. Had a great Christmas planned out and now that may fall through. I'd like to think people have a little good in them but dealing with two sociopaths.

I have a lot of nice clothes, nice watches, flat screen.

Like I said my door does lock but anyone with a butter knife and time can pick it. Cheap wood.

I go visiting After the move! Stay home with your Stuff if they are so important. Or move everything into storage. Take only the Bare Basic when you come back into the room. Leave nothing outside the room you rent Bring food in As you need.

Only a foolish landlord doesn't. I'm putting $150k or more in a tenants hands so I need to know if they can be trusted and background checks are the best way to get a glimpse at who a person is. I fully own 14/20 of my rental properties and the others I have a lot of equity in them so I need to guard those investments the best way I can. I use TransUnion Smartmove, recently started using it, and it is almost instant to get the info back from that. Then it is just a matter of verifying employment and references which could take a few hours to a few days, depends how quickly people call me back.

Do you disqualify anyone with arrests or just convictions?
