There will never be an update.

You will need to file a lawsuit against the owners and the managers.

Exactly, until you light a fire underneath them (sorry, couldn't resist) they'll keep putting you off. Consult with an attorney now.

Are you saying the items in your closet and bathroom are worth 10K or 20K? Either way, I do hope you have a lot of receipts or photos of you wearing high-end clothing. The insurance company for the leasing office is not going to hand you 10k/ 20k without proof.

(By the way, you shouldn't put a "s" on "stuff". It is already plural. English is not an easy language.)

While I'm not in a rental ( have owned for over 30 years).. I still keep ALL pertinent papers and appropriate paper trail all together in ONE Bin so can escape IF need be due to unforeseen circumstances.

While we do get hurricanes ( nothing like southern States) but I lived thru Hurricane Hazel and knew many families that suffered horrific losses!! So, going back over 60 years ago, I learned a very valuable lesson. It doesn't matter if you rent or own.. ALWAYS be prepared!! This mindset comes from my parents who lived thru the Depression, Wars that put so many at risk!! Prevention and paper trail can and does prove your claims.. especially since then>> Corporations often deny deny.. just like Politicians and Lawyers who get paid to LIE or deflect!!

So, clothes and physical things can be replaced.. But then again You will always HAVE TO PROVE your losses!
Sentimental items of course may never be replaced.. But unless you have Insured them.. best (given advent of digital documentation of such) at least have such pictures and legacy remembrances of whatever it was!!

I grew up never assuming any Landlord had MY BETTER INTEREST at heart.. so always Hedged my bets that they would NOT!! I guess one could say is.. I, on a daily living level hedged my bets on protecting my things versus playing the market!! LOL

What ends up harming folks is ASSumptions.. I'm Old enough to have learned from my parents who went thru the Great Depression.. and so appreciative that I did!! Then, of course..OP I sure HOPE you learn from this.. as IF you don't> It's doomed to repeat over and over again.

Today, instant digital access and ability for hacking and bad actors can take advantage of people makes it's more and more probable for stuff like this.. Lobbyists pay big bucks to buy off Politicians to de-regulate and makes it so easy for BAD actors to get away with stealing/ go bankrupt if found guilty ... Ohhhh wait.. Just ask Trump how he got away with that... He's a pro on that venue!!

really appreciated. If I got nothing from my leasing office. Fine. But as you said, I have to learn from this and prevent this happens in the future and put myself in difficult position again. I already bought a fire proof safe and put all my important docs in there. Thanks for your kind words!
