Dunno but my youngest daughter just presented grandbaby #11 (between the two of us) a few hours ago. Regrettably, too far away to apply the sniff test.
Just drink alot of beer that will change the smell or eat alot a garlic or fish oil pills;that will mask the smell.Might nt wi you friends but it will mask the smell of age.
I really hope the OP is kidding - and hasn't forgotten that the homes of 'old folks' have an odor too. A distinctive odor- possibly a urine and body odor smell, kind of musty, mixed with floral perfumes or air freshners. Blech!
My grandmother smells like it, and so do all nursing homes, some more than others. I'm sure someday, I will to, God willing!
Smell has always been a particular sensitivity of mine. I could smell when my kids were sick, could note the smells of their bodies as they grew - toddlers smell like fresh-cut grass to me, even when they haven't been outside or have just showered, teens have a more metallic smell, etc. One guy I knew smelled like spoiled milk. No matter what cologne he wore, how long ago he had showered, even when he was sick, there was always that underlying smell. We were friends for 20 years and it never changed.
Of course, I can also smell rain or snow in the air, even when there aren't any clouds or warnings, and give an approximate time when it will start. Several times I have sniffed DH and told him to make a doctor's appointment; I can smell when there was something really wrong with him, even before he knew it.
Everyone has their own individual smell, and changes in exterior as well as interior factors (disease, aging, drugs, foods, etc) alters their odor. I could talk about tastes, too, but that would just get weird (er).
