I would have to question the intelligence, common sense, maturity, and sanity of anyone who would go out of their way to antagonize a person who is in a position of legitimate authority with the power of arrest and who is trained in self-defense. In what way would the incredible arrogance of that old ______ rebound to her own good? She sounds quite spoiled to me, just to choose a rather mild term. After all, the police officer did not just pull her over because he had nothing else to do; he pulled her over because she was traveling at an unsafe speed. In other words, he was protecting the general public. What is so hard to understand about an order to produce one's driver's license? Maybe she was suffering from dementia - a good reason for her not to be behind the wheel.
Hmm. She may be a jerk, but driving 66 in a 50 mph zone is hardly a hanging offense. Nor is it insane. (Come on, Rider. You live in LA. Surely not everyone who lives there is insane, are they? No, wait. Don't answer that question! )
You're right, though. Don't go all huffy with a cop. That is plumb dumb.

I did not write that driving 66 in a 50 zone was insane, but that purposely antagonizing a cop was insane. Driving 66 in a 50 zone is only a legitimate reason to be pulled over. I regularly drive over the speed limit, but I am not surprised when I am pulled over, and I do not escalate the situation. Your final three-sentence paragraph sums it up, and shows me that we basically agree about the situation.
Bascially she need to co-operate i his wriitng the ticket more quickly has the ticket once signed is a personal appearance bond and without it you go to jial and post bond. She is just being a stupid jerk like mnay half her age in dealig with a simple traffic ticket.

Every Police Department has those whose badge is too heavy for their butt. Life will weed them out of law enforcemnet, unfortunately they bwill be replaced by other equally unqualifieds. Meaanwhioe the massive majority of Law Enforcement can go through their careers without tasering granny
I'm a senior, the law is the law. Some of us are stupid, cranky, and as obnoxious as our younger counterparts. I never could see why healthy normal seniors need to be treated any differently than others.
I have to say that I was pretty appalled at the lady being pulled to the ground by a police officer, but to be fair I only saw a brief clip. From what I understand she did refuse to get out of the car, and she did refuse to produce her license and registration in the first place, so in a way she does have herself to blame.
I do think that many officers of the law get too big for their britches, though. Did the cop really think she was such a danger that he had to drag her out of the car? Ridiculous. Stand there all day if you have to; she's not a gangster for god's sake. He must be so proud for wrestling a 70+ year old woman!!!

It's not a matter of pride. It's a matter of non-compliance, resistance and defiance. And even a senior can be armed and dangerous so it's also a matter of personal safety. She got what she deserved. Stand there all day? As a former cop I can assure you a patrol officer has better things to do on the tax payers' dime.
