I wasn't sure where to post this question. What is the best day of the week for a 90th birthday party? My sister wants to have it on a Friday night in a restaurant and it doesn't seem right. I think Sat. or Sunday afternoon is better for older people. Thanks.

At that age, as early in the week as possible. But I agree with you. It will be less crowded, noisy and hectic which the birthday boy/girl might appreciate.

Thanks Ghostly. She is going to do what she wants to do, but I think Friday nights are more for working people.

We had my mother's 90th birthday party on a Sunday afternoon. It worked out well for everyone, including Mom.

what's her sleep schedule? my mother stays up till early AM; gets up when she wants; I've known some elderly on the reverse schedule.
We've planned celebrations for mid afternoon -- we can't stay up late

I agree with you...I think the afternoon is a better choice. Will there be other older people invited? Many seniors do not like to drive at night due to vision issues, so having the party in the afternoon would be helpful to them too.

Amen to not driving at night, and you don't have to be anywhere near 90 to find it a problem.
