It takes me half a morning to put a bracelet on. Seriously, I feel like giving away my jewelry. The clasps are a pain. I use the arm of an upholstered chair to brace the circular part then I maneuver the hook with my other hand. So many things take longer now. As a little girl it was my job to thread my grandma's needle. Now I wish I had a little girl to do the finite things for me. All in all, I have good health and the eye doc says my vision is fine without glasses (except for reading) and I've no real complaints but then this isn't a Health Board, it's a Retirement Board, and I'm curious if a lot of 65+/- women still bother with jewelry. I also want to add how grateful I am that this minor issue is my crank for the day.

actually I wear jewelry more now than when I worked.

Washing your hands a gazillion times a day discourages rings and bracelets, plus bracelets can get caught in some of the analyzers.

Not long after I started working, I saw some old guy grab a dangling earring while someone was drawing his blood. He just wouldn't let go. ouch

Now, I wear jewelry. Not a lot but some.

And still able to thread needles.

But I can't bend over without getting dizzy. I can barely get both shoes tied. Whatever happened to velcro on shoes. sigh

I love my jewelry and they would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands (and wrists and ears and neck)! Well, if DD didn't get there first. But I do have to agree that my Pandora bracelets cab be a bit of a pain.

PAhippo.........you sound like a med tech, are you? I am, too! I'm originally from PA as well.

You're not alone. My wife usually has to ask me to put her bracelets on for her. She's about your age also.

I am glad I am retired because I grilled a steak for breakfast and the wife and I enjoyed it along with everything else. They said breakfast should be your big meal of the day and being retired enables us to do that most days.

Heck I am 55 and I never wore jewelry. More out of habit. I was in the military - electronics - and it was not allowed.

But, I changed my "look" recently and found that earrings are a must. Cut my gray hair ultra short - and love it!
