Trump will take care of social security by shutting down the government any time he has a temper tantrum. Maybe that's what he means by government saving money.

Trump said he was not concerned with social security; wanted to keep it the same.

Of course, he said Obama was not born in America for 4-5 years, then in a 2-minute press conference acted like he never said it. Nothing he says at any given moment matters.

Trump will do what's best for Trump, what he thinks makes him look good at the moment.

UPDATE: Well, I just looked on his site, and the references to Social Security are completely gone. Interesting. But I think the positions he had stated before probably state where his head is, and that he considers the above plan "honoring the deal," since technically SS will still exist, at least for a while.
OF COURSE he removed that. He is not a man that's bound by his word, or anything really. He doesn't honor contracts or pay taxes, why would he honor some b.s. an intern typed up on a website? My bet is that he will not worry about it SS since it does not present an immediate problem. SS reform will have to originate in congress.

THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO LIVE ONLY ON SOCIAL SECURITY.

Cutting SS would make a large pool of people with guns coming at Trump. Regardless of what the platform said or what he said on the trail of the election, nothing will happen to SS for people who are already in it. Now, people who are not getting it---that may change quite a bit.

When has the platform ever been what they do??? They will say and do anything to get into office. Once in, they do whatever they want. We have no idea what they will do---any of them.

Since I was a Federal government worker that wont be a change from the last few years anyway so not much a thing there. I got furloughed two times and six times was put on notice that it was coming. No budget plans passed and signed into law by POTUS.

Good!
Maybe next time these people won't vote against their own interest.

Actually, Trump is opposed to Social Security cuts.

Why haven't you read the republican platform on social security? And here's an article posted today which clearly states Trump is opposed to Social security benefit cuts. Under President Trump Big Changes Are on the Way for America

How does a man that pays no taxes get voted in? He will beef up all laws sheltering $$ and anything else will suffer.
