After talking about a friend's father who died right after he retired, I got the energy to call her in FL, I'm in CA. She was so happy to get my call and we did some catching up for almost an hour. Told her why I called, because I was talking about her father.

She's my age, gone thru some cancers and now some fractures but still happy to talk about parts of our lives. We had a HISTORY and went thru some issues in our lives, together and apart. She still uses a landphone and I've had her number for years.

Thank you. I had two phone calls today. They left voicemail but I've been "too busy" to call them back.

I'll make a note of it so I won't forget.

Those calls can be highlights of one's day. Aging keeps us more isolated and we all have our own issues and it took the time for me to make that call...talking about her father.
