I have often looked at life in stages or "seasons"
Spring---birth to 20yrs old. New, exciting, fun.......
Summer---21 to 41. Fun mixed with hard work, responsibilities
Fall---42 to 61. Slowing down, creaky, getting tired
Winter---62 to death. Minds alert but body won't cooperate, tired but content. And pretty soon, complete silence like being in the middle of a snow storm with nobody around. Hey, what's that light ahead?

Anyway, just having some fun and thinking of life that way sometimes.

Yes, it's scary in this brain sometimes LOLOLOLOLOL

If your body is failing at age 62 you didn't take care of yourself in spring, summer and fall.

For some, winter isn't the end of anything. Its beautiful, contemplative, poignant and charged with potential because it's just a breath before the cycle kicks into high gear all over again.

Did you mean "if a person is falling apart at 62" or did you mean me? LOL
Cause, I'm not 62 or falling apart. But, you are right though---if someone is falling apart at 62, they didn't take care of it in Spring, Summer and Fall

That's not always true. My husband and I always took care of ourselves but things happen, like cancer, RA, MS..... I could go on and on.

CindyRoos, I always heard our life is like the season's from great grandmother. She even referred to the romance of a neighbor down the road when he started dating a younger woman as a May-December romance.

Anyone remember this?

Here's the original thread: Looking back, how would you refer to the different time periods of your life?

I guess great minds think alike!

Desiderata nevre fails to lead us to a simple truth:

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
