You are more likely to get "theoretical" answers and guesses to questions in Finances because the people there aren't retired yet.
You may need to search a bit more. There are plenty of other sources available where you can get good advice without being scolded for your state of finance or level of income or the amount of your SSDI check.

That may be true but it does not mean that threads on finances do not belong here, clearly give the majority of responses to your question they do belong here.

Please post a link to the thread where you were “scolded” for any of those things.

I don't have to be personally scolded or derided or faulted for that fact that I have low income and work 2 jobs , or got fired and am disabled, or any number of things that can happen to one who find themselves in a bad way, to feel sympathy and outrage for those who get attacked that way.

Do you care about issues of poverty and disability only if it is personally happening to you? If so then you may not/never understand my position so let us stop trying.

You have concluded that the majority who responds are the only ones who matter. What about those who are silenced because they protest?

Discussions about money, SS, living expenses should be in Personal Finance.
Why do people mix up the two here and then complain about class hierarchy?
Absolutely not.

Finances in retirement are vastly different than in earlier liife

There is no ban on discussing finance in retirement on personal finance forums.

Amen, read threads that you want to read

Not that my opinion matters but I personally feel finance belongs here. If you take away everything to do with finances that would remove SS and so much more that is directly related to the retirement forum. If it were in a different area I wouldn't even think about going in search of those elsewhere but that's just me. I love this forum, I think it's perfect just like it is. I don't say much and nobody really responds to me but I've enjoyed reading what others share and I've even learned a few things.
If I see a subject I don't care to read, I just scroll on by.
