A happy, contented life without being glued to a smart phone, or even access to internet!

My husband and I still remember when we only had 3 days of electricity when we were growing up.

I don't think my childhood would baffle young people today--I was on the phone all the time when I was young, just like young people are today.

The only difference is my phone was a big black thing hanging on the wall, and their phones are in their hands. And I was talking, not texting, of course.

Girls not being allowed to wear pants to school, no matter how cold.

Cassette tapes and 8 tracks for music. Having to wait until a song came on the radio to hear it. Having to watch a TV show when it was on. No recording and you might be waiting a long time for a rerun. I remember when the Wizard of Oz was only on one time a year. If you missed the show, too bad.

Blockbuster?

More like having to wait to see if, after several years, it comes to television. And then hope you're home that night.

No cable, no remote, no vcr. I remember being the first in the neighborhood to have a color tv.

We could wear shorts under our dresses because we were forced to play dodge ball and kick ball. I hated it, I felt like it was more for boys. After my friend got her front teeth knocked out they stopped making us play the rougher things.
