For the past year I’ve been noticing hair in the drain when I shower, and a corresponding widening part on my head. Have any other women been experiencing hair loss in their 60s? If so, have you tried any remedies or hair loss concealers? If so, I’d love to hear the results you had.
I do have a friend with thinning hair. She started getting some kind of treatments. She says it’s working. I tell her she should just stop doing the hair color and daily shampoos and blow drying

I’d be curious as to what kind of treatments she’s getting!
I don’t dye my hair, and now only wash it every couple of days. Still blow dry, though. Believe me, you don’t want to walk outside with wet hair in Minnesota. 🙀
My hair started thinning in my late 40s. I have always said it fell out instead of going gray. Even now at 71, I still have 50/50 black and gray hair. But there is very little of it. I keep it short and layered which allows me to fluff it up to help cover the scalp. I use a volumizing shampoo and very light-weight volumizing mouse (both increasingly hard to find). Most hair products have too much moisterizing ingredients that weigh my hair down.
It's not from coloring or blow drying. I never colored my hair.

I didn’t mean that coloring or blow drying would cause you to lose hair. I just think that if it is that delicate, why add more stress to it?
My hair is thinning, but no particular bald spot yet. However I part on the side as always so it may cover some thinning part. But I used to have thick shinnning hair, that’s gone now, but according to my hair dresser I still have lots of hair. I do color my hair but not as often, maybe 6 times a year. No blow dry here either. But I do shampoo every day. It’s a habit now.
I'm losing handfuls of hair every day. I think some of it is due to medications I am on.
My grandmother was almost bald when she passed. She wore a wig to hide it. DH says whenever I want one, we'll get me a nice wig. I'm just not to that point yet.
My hair loss doesn't seem linear. Meaning, I'll drop hairs furiously for a while, then it normalizes for maybe a year.
I met an acquaintance in Costco. He asked me how I was. "Losing my hair," was my response. He just pointed to his bald spot. Good reminder to me to be more sensitive. Guys must get upset about thinning hair, too.
I was very sick last year and all the medications had me losing hair like crazy . I started taking biotin daily and I added a shampoo with keratin. My hair is so much thicker now and very curly .
