Shirley Gibson, 86, made the annual trek to a county office to pay her property taxes earlier this year, only to be told they were already paid by the new owner.
The end of the article stated she would get her property back soon. I’m guessing it will take a while to untangle that mess.
I signed up for email alerts from our county when anything involving our property changes to prevent fraudulent activity. I’ve gotten a couple of alerts since then, but they were legitimate.
