Just checked mine, and with the increase in my Medicare Part B premium and a few more dollars taken out for Federal taxes I end up with $76 more a month which is enough to buy a 1/2 weeks worth of groceries at Aldi.

Oh that would buy me almost a couple of weeks. I don't eat that much. My net increase will buy me a little over a tank of gas, or a couple of weeks of groceries - and I don't shop at Aldi's much either.

I got an email from SS telling me that it was available on the website, so I checked. My increase is about $120/month, that's about a tank of gas for me in the F150 (36 gallons). Fortunately a tank lasts a long time now.
About 65% of our income is from Social Security, but I am not complaining about the small increase because at least it was some increase.
The people I feel sorry for are young families who have not received significant increases in their wages to keep up with inflation in several years. I honestly don't know how they manage unless they were, and still are affluent, with quite a bit of discretionary income after paying for basics like food, transportation and housing costs.
I changed insurance companies saved around $39 for 6 months, and I'm going to try their snapshot service to see if it saves money. Since I'm using basically the vehicle only for shopping at the time my movement is rather limited.
More bread tomorrow and finishing up the second whole chicken twin pack I bought. Already cut off meat, now simmering bones for broth. Since my rent is all inclusive, no power bills to worry about.
So much chicken (I thought the twin pack would be 5-6 lbs, not 12!)
Considering that makes the last 3 years of increases 17.8%, amongst, if not the, largest 3 year increase since SS started COLAs, then I cannot complain much. We all know it was never meant to be your sole support in retirement. My PIA has risen around $590 a month from what I was expecting to get 3 years ago. I plan on filing for it in early 2024.
