Would you be interested in a Forum or Sub-Forum where topics of interest to Seniors can be found in one place? Subjects could include Eldercare, Living with an adult child, Living Wills, Down-sizing your home, Living on a Shoestring, senior safety in the home, Home medical equipment, Hospice, Retirement homes. Powers of Attorney, etc..
Many of these topics are cross generation and hopefully are of interest to all ages.
Sure would be nice to be able to find all the things that affect life for seniors and their family care givers in one central forum. The way it is now it's all over the forum.
It would be nice a some of these are really big issues to seniors. It comes down to votes. The more positive votes the poll receives, the more likely the Admin will look at the request for a new Senior Foorum or Sub-Forum. One thing for sure, it will be good for seniors of all ages.

Many of those things hit on disabled citizens living on fixed incomes also. I know a couple of disabled folks that are under 50 but could use info like you are speaking about. So would this forum just be for senior citizen matters?

I voted no, for three reasons.
First, about the "topics of interest to Seniors can be found in one place" - good luck with that. I'm not sure that the many and varied interests of seniors can or should be pigeonholed like that; for example, relationships for seniors, music for seniors, PC vs Mac for seniors, and so on.
Second, although I'm retired, I don't consider myself a senior - I'm 57. But I am retired, as is my wife, and I visit this forum often.
Third, in searching this forum, I see many threads/posts that deal with the issues listed above. Would having a separate forum or retirement sub-forum mean that a person would have to check both forums? Wouldn't this lead to a lot of duplicate threads, with people not knowing which forum to use for which topic?
Suggestion: would the same goal be reached by keeping just one forum, but re-naming it something like "Retirement / Senior Living"?
I agree with GreenGene and Yankinscotland. Have one forum and re-name it "Retirement/Senior Living". That's really what the Retirement forum is already, it seems to me. Sure, some people retire early and aren't seniors, but they can pick and choose what to read, just like we all probably do already anyway.
First, unless you have "all things junior" or all things middle aged, it's ridiculous to have all things senior. What's next, all things black? All things chinese? Maybe we women shouldn't be posting with men? Maybe you want a separate forum for Republicans and Democrats?
Every time City Data forms a new forum/sub-forum, it dilutes the discussion in the other forums. For example: The state forums were better before all of the sub-forums for all of the towns. Now you are forced to post in sub-forums where you don't even live. Someone who just wants to move to a state has to go to 6 or 7 forums just to ask about different places within a state. Also, for example: I live in Town X but anything I post about my town is moved from the General State forum to City Y's sub-forum. Town X isn't even in City Y's county. I don't care what happens in City Y or their discussion about City Y housing, stores, laws, etc. It's ridiculous. A tourist wouldn't even know where to go for information. It was a lot better when those posts were all in one state forum or really just have those forums have posts about that city, not the whole area surrounding it. Ever take a look at the Elections sub-forum of Politics and Other Controversies? A lot of the time, the posts in Elections aren't even about elections and why shouldn't election controversies be allowed to be posted in the main forum that more people read?
So, what are you going to do? Move retirement under "All Things Senior?" That ought to kill the retirement forum because 50 year olds just love to be called "seniors."
Keep the forums about subjects/activities, not about people.

I agree with this, too. We tend to figure that the retirement forum is for older folks, anyway....so it makes sense to me. Gotta vote "no" on this one.
Or "Retirement and Senior Living" for easier searching.
