Hi. Me and my St Bernard dog are looking to relocate from my apartment on the east side to somewhere with a yard and or a waterfront view and or close to the water, but very close to a city (either Boston or Prov, unless there is a creative solution I have not thought about). It is mostly for the dog. I work from home, and have to be in Fall River, Ma about once a week or once every other week. I am a 38 year old writer,. I am looking for a place that is progressive, but not overly affluent and uptight, where I could rent a decent one bedroom for about 900 per month, 1000 if utilities are included. I am posting this in case there is somewhere I have not thought of, Thanks in advance for the insight.
We lived in Tiverton, our house wasn't on the water but we had 5 acres in the woods, great dog yard, for $1,200. It's been sold now, but it may be a town worth looking at, as well as guest houses in Westport and Little Compton.
Thanks everyone. I am considering Tiverton and will check it out. Is it a place for a single person? Are there things to do at night. Im not a partier but the option to eat out late and go to a bar or movie orsomething like that every once in a while is good to have,
Tiverton, although it comes with beautiful views, has nothing to do at night- don't think it would be big enough for you. I second Warren; Bristol- right next door- has a few places to go at night, although Providence is only 20 min from either.
PS The St Bernard is going to be a problem in terms of most decent rentals, but then you already know that.
Thanks. Warren is cute. St. Bernard, surprisingly, has not been that much of a problem--even with realtors. She would be a problem in Boston, NY etc, but not as much here. There are more rentals than people to fill them, and that is probably why.
