We are looking for a place to live within 30 miles of Woonsocket. We would like 4 bed/2.5 bath home, at least 2200 sq ft up to 400K. Also would like a top rated public high school with a good STEM program and First Robotics Team. It is important for us to be close (10-15 min drive tops!) to the school, shopping, malls, movies, library, etc. Any suggestions??

Your best bet is probably looking at Lincoln, RI. Lincoln has good public schools, has a mall and movie theater in town and is close to larger malls in Attleboro and Providence.

Someone else might be better able to answer the STEM question and the First Robotics question. I had to google FIRST Robotics, because I hadn't heard of that, and I'm not sure Lincoln has a team; got conflicting info. However there's a Woonsocket-based Northern Rhode Island Robotics team and a Pawtucket team, as well as a team from the Lincoln school in Providence. I'm not sure whether the Northern RI team is open to kids from various schools, or how this usually works.

Other towns you might want to look at would be Cumberland, North Smithfield and Smithfield. I put Lincoln first because their school system seems to the highest regarded in that area, and you can easily find a very nice, and large, newer house there. I think Cumberland is also worth looking at but they had some sort of issue with accreditation with their high school a few years back and I don't know how things are now. Very nice town though.
Take a look at www.riliving.com

you'll have no problem finding what you want for
even 30% of that price if you look hard enough.
Same advice we give most talking about moving here
for the first time.. just get here first. PCHousing.com
has a place in Woonsocket you can stay at. Extended
Stay America is in East Prov and Warwick. Also of course
hotels and motels. Just get here. There is a lot packed in
this area, within a 30 mile radius there is too much variety
to talk about, don't buy without coming and taking time to
explore. good luck.

Uh, I wouldn't Lincoln Mall a 'mall'. Bottom line - it is close to Emerald Square and Providence Place Mall.

I agree Lincoln is a good community with good schools, as does Smithfield.
