The most and least expensive states for car insurance

No surprise there; a relative owns a 2012 Nissan Altima and pays $1984. per year full coverage with moderate limits. His daughter age 24 has same car but 2014, paying $2400 a year. Wow.

Yep. We had a 2011 Nissan Rogue. Full coverage. Just under $1500/year.

Theirs are the fully loaded high dollar models. Maybe that is why. $1500 is no picnic either. I was just looking at the Murano, very nice. Rogue might be just right in red. My ins. here, full cov. high limits on 7yr. new Avalon is $785. Lovin' that.

My mother pays 2k a year, they claim because she lives in Cranston and being 75 y/o woman . She has never been in an accident or ever filed a claim. These companies are crooks without the mask and gun.
This is allstate,....>
geico+ progressive are worse.
Liberty mutual wanted me to jump ship when they offered me coverage for $ 2500 when I pay $ 850 for full coverage through Allstate. Sure, sign me up for 1/2 the coverage for 3 x the amount!

I pay about $900 a year for a 7 year old car. Some of these other numbers make me afraid to ever get a new car!

My least favorite things to buy (because of the difficulty in price comparison, and the feeling you're getting ripped off):

mattresses
cars
plane tickets
insurance

Insurance rates are based on the type of vehicle, location where it is garaged, and individual driving record.

Lots of factors enter into the rate equation. Do these relatives of yours have multiple driving while intoxicated convictions? Or bad driving records, like speeding, or killing a pedestrian while under the influence of drugs or alcohol? That could well be the cause of the relatively high rates, you know.
