I am wondering what people's thoughts are on this area of East Providence. It is so close to the East Side at a fraction of the price, and I don't know what the catch is. Is this a safe area? And does this area seem to be moving upwards? Is it walkable? We like to walk around.
We have also been looking at Oak Hill but the market is insane right now!
It's a semi industrial area. Renting there would be OK but I don't think buying there would be a great investment. You could look nearby in Rumford or in Riverside- both better sections of EP. There are also some streets right around the Weaver Library on Grove that are not bad.
I don't know much about the area, but there isn't much to walk to and you may have to deal with some early morning noise when the Monroe Dairy trucks leave. The East Side would be a trek across a highway bridge (which does have bike lanes).
There's a house up the street from me in Oak Hill that just went on the market in the past week or so; 3 bed 2 bath listed at $348k.
