No historic house tours again this year. But, for those of us aching for a historic tour, check out the Providence Preservation Society's Festival of Gardens next month. Some of these gardens are as spectacular as the houses.

Which 8 gardens are included in this tour?

With 12 people shot in Providence (and 1 in nearby Pawtucket) during the past 3 days, it would be REALLY helpful if you could provide some info about the locations of the 8 gardens. This is a safety issue, Independent Man. People are on edge, and understandably might hesitate to go on a blind scavenger hunt through some MAYBE high risk areas.

"It would really be helpful" indeed. Please don't conflate your out-of-state fearmongering with a Providence garden tour. I'm sure the tour participants will take all due precautions. And, against all of your wannabe crime reporter advice, there may even be a tour of a historic southside neighborhood's garden. Gasp!

"Self-guided tours of private and community gardens, hosted by the Providence Preservation Society — 10 am to 4 pm

Guests will enjoy exclusive self-guided access to a selection of private gardens at historic homes, a community garden that celebrates the city’s diversity, and a Colonial Revival garden stewarded by PPS. Located in four city neighborhoods from the East Side to Elmwood, the eight featured gardens will exhibit a variety of plantings and contemporary interpretations of historic garden design."

Why? So you can get the addresses & trash the neighborhoods with your fearmongering nonsense from a keyboard in the woods of Maine?

So you don't know, or choose not to disclose it? I'm sure the PPS has the well being of visitors in mind, but really what's to hide???

It's a simple basic question. Being somebody (supposedly) "in the know", I consider it a disservice to put this stuff out there while not being fully transparent and willing to give the whole scoop. We've already been through this with you before, regarding other events of theirs.

Anyone genuinely interested in the garden tour can contact PPS. I'll pass on giving neighborhood addresses so you can do your fearmonger crime routine on those which may be located in the minority/majority neighborhoods you enjoy trashing.

Golfing is far more dangerous in the state of Massachusetts than going on garden tours in Providence.

I think he lives in Maine. And speaking of crime, there's none in waiting to post until it's relevant. And in the appropriate forum.
