What are your favorite top 5 restaurants in Providence (or surrounding area)? For those of you that are real devote's or cuisine aficionado's you could divide it into top 5 expensive restaurants, and top 5 cheap restaurants. My favorites are:

Pricey favorites:
1. Alforno
2. Old Canteen
3. Camilles
4. Capriccios
5. Mediteraneo

Cheap favorites:
1. Cowesett Inn (West Warwick)
2. Big Cheese (Cranston)
3. Checker Club (Pawtucket)
4. 99 Club
5. Chelos

In true RI fashion...remember when Neath's was where the Bacaro is now?
That was my favorite place in town. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Meanwhile, 4 Seasons on Reservoir Ave is pretty decent, actually. Not pricey and low-key but the food's quite amazing.

I have only been to a couple of the fancy places but they were pretty good:

Cappricio's & Mediterraneo

As for the cheap stuff:

1. Chilangos
2. Cuban Revolution
3. The Blue Elephant (best place for brunch)
4. Ruffuls (my favorite breakfast place)
5. East Side Pockets (if this is a restaurant )

In P-town:

Pakarang, Camille's, A Taste Of India, Antonio's Pizza, Louie Fuller.

Cranston, Warwick:

Efendi's, Cafe Itri, Ward's Publick House, Shogun Japanese Steakhouse, Paparazzi. (A chain out of Boston but a really good one!)

Apsara is really good. I ate there last night. Which one do you like better - the one on the west or east side? I prefer the west side one but it's out of the way for me.

Camilles, Alforno and The Old Canteen are incredible. If I made more money I would go more often. I was at the Canteen back in February and I think the bill came up to $150 for two.

My top five for dinner would be:

1) Twist on Angell
2) LJ's (right over the border in Pawtucket)
3) Blaze
4) Bravo
5) the place that begins with a Z on Wickenden

For breakfast I won't go anywhere but Amy's in Pawtucket.

Citron - Specializes in locally grown ingredients and organically grown foods
Julians - Great breakfast
Capriccios - Upscale Italian in the basement.
