We're relatively new to VA and, while I'm pretty good at using Priceline.com in my home state, I'm far less clued into the hotel scene in VA Beach.

Do you want ocean front? If you want ocean front and you are using pricelines name your own price bidding, there is no guarantee you will get an ocean front hotel, as the radius is long and broad most of them will not be ocean front. However you can use hotwires system, there you can pick out ocean front hotels but you dont know the name of the hotel until your done. I am like you I love using pricelines name your own price but I am too scared to chance it on Va beach ocean fronts, I used hotwire myself before and it worked! Good Luck!

Usually before the big summer boom most of the hotels give discounts to VA residents you can get a night at a descent hotel for like $70/night. I did it the last 2 years. Haven't heard anything about it this year though, worth looking into
