Where are your favorite places to fish at? Relatively new to the city, finally was able to grab most of my fishing gear this past weekend. Heading down to Belle Isle later today. Yesterday I fished near the 2000 Riverside Drive apartments.

Whew, when I was growing up, fish from the James were considered unsafe. Not sure what the story is now, but I'd definitely be catching and releasing, too.

That said, I have a friend who caught a pike gar by hand at Pony Pasture, took it home and ate it :P

Where can I go to catch some large fish (trout etc.) strictly for eating?

Thanks.
