VERY small...heard there were only 4 students in their new high school...why not look at the larger private schools in the area that are more established?

Besides Collegiate, Steward & St, Catherine's, what other schools in the 23112 vicinity should I check out?

The commute to the above schools from 23112 seem quite far. Can't imagine doing rush hour to and fro every day of the schoolyear. Would it be as tedious as I think?

Yes, Millwood is only 20 years old. This is their first year with a 9th grade, hence only 4 students (?)(or are there other reasons?) They hope to expand yearly until their high school is established.

I will certainly visit all schools (if we get to that point) but have you "heard" anything worrisome about Millwood? PM me if necessary.

Thank you.

Our son Attended Millwood 5 years ago (6-8th grade). He received a great education. He went on Trinity Episcopal School in Midlo and now is in college doing great! Good Luck! Btw, if you are searching for a great school for Ele. or Middle try Richmond Montessori - awesome school and teachers!

Millwood has a highly acclaimed elementary and middle school program. It's high school program is just launching now, and it did so during a time when the economy was down, which probably accounts for its low enrollment.

My husband visited Millwood a couple of years ago when we started our research of Richmond. I had done a lot of research and spoke with the head of the school, who was lovely, as she also was when my hubby visited in person. Our kids are currently in a private independent in our home state and we were impressed with what Millwood has to offer and felt it a comparable trade to what we have now. The upper school is brand new, but lower and middle have been around longer and get great reviews. Good luck!
