Does anyone know any inexpensive and experienced hair salons or stylists in the Richmond area? I would like to find a salon or stylist who is not expensive - $25.00 or less for a women's cut (not full service). Besides hair salons, I am also interested in experience hair stylists who work from their homes.

I'd LOVE to find someone who works in their home, too. That's what I had in MI and I loved it! I'm nto sure where in Richmond you are, we're on the southside and there's a salon here- Shear Image, a cut w/shampoo is $25, w/o is $20. I have an appt scheduled next week.

Default Shear Image?

How did your haircut turn out at Shear Image? Would you recommend this salon?

Willowtree- Thanks for the suggestion of even a stylist! I'm looking, too. I finally broke down and when to a Hair Cuttery. My result isn't horrible and I feel more like me but it's not exactly what I wanted either.

It was amazing! I would recommend her to anyone.

Hi Everyone,

I'm brand new in Short Pump and haven't been able to get a referral to a good stylist.

So I tried Lynn mentioned here. Very nice lady. I asked for a 1/4 of an inch trim since I was brand new to her. She was wonderful.

HOWEVER, the poster on here didn't mention that the salon charges by an "a la carte" method.

So, Lynn finally clued me in: shampoo costs something (I wondered why she asked me if I wanted a wet or dry cut ), a hair cut is $25, but then a simple blow dry is also $25. So I politely left with a wet head. Seems like a scam to me.

The thing is: if a stylist doesn't blow dry your hair she can't tell if a mistake was made or if something needs to be fixed.

I don't like not being told up front what the all of the costs were. Not Lynn's fault. I don't understand why the nice receptionist didn't say a word.

And the "a la carte" thing is the owner's idea, not Lynn's.

I live in Short Pump -- if anyone can point me to a stylist relatively close by, I'd really appreciate it.

Alley
