Hey everyone!
I’m from a small town in Massachusetts and have applied and heard back from some grad programs in Virginia and North Carolina. Based on the responses, I’m planning a trip over Spring Break that will allow me to get a better sense for the areas, and help determine my decision.

One of the programs is at Longwood University. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the best area/town to live in if attending Longwood? I'm looking for an area that doesn't have a high crime rate, has some sort of a night life (or at least a couple bars), will potentially have employment oppurtunities, and is not too far from Longwood University. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for your help!

Longwood is a pretty good way from the Roanoke area, so you might want to repost on the general Virginia section. Good luck!

You can live in Farmville. It isn't a "farm" town. Check out the area before you make a decision. It is a nice place to live and has a lot more things to do than when I went to school there 30+ years ago.
